All Good Things Must Come To An End
Fri, 11/06/2010 - 7:49am — DrP3cker

Well after 4 years of running lans in SEQ its time for me to call it quits and along with me close up QGaming. QGaming was my pipe dream a few years back when we turned QLDCSS into QGaming in an attempt to create lan competitions in several games not just CSS. Unfortunately the admin crew all got older and with that our spare time shriveled up! Marriage, kids, work and life in general does a great job of taking all of your time!

Its sad to end things after so many successful lans (we started in July 2006!) but we don’t see much point having an inactive community and website where none of the admins even play the game anymore! You all know vex (who has just moved up to QLD) so he'll be the new poster boy for QLD CSS lans!

Ive always worried about doing shoutouts as Im sure Ill miss someone, but here goes a quick one to the people that helped shape QLD CSS. Plus Ill edit people in as I remember them (or get reminded!).

With GotGames and Western Digital combining to announce the inaugural State of Origin LAN event - we expected plenty of QLD teams to show up and showcase their talent to the rest of Australia. With the prize pool boasting over $4000 in cash and prizes there was good reason to come along!

QG Update
Fri, 21/05/2010 - 12:26pm — DrP3cker

We have booked our lans up until our awesome GenCon lan in September. Registrations for each lan will open approximately 1 month before the event date so keep an eye out on our website for that.

Things have been a quiet around the QGaming traps lately as our numbers have dwindled at recent events and new games are capturing the minds of our admin crew. But we will continue to support CSS until its no longer supported by you the community.

The big news recently that may rock our CSS competitions is Steam's plans to update CSS. Its currently being called CSS Beta 2010 and available to a lucky few. Common sentiment is that this is aimed at making the game more noob-friendly and enticing more people to buy the game. We understand the Beta includes achievements running along the lines of TF2. Have a read of the Beta review done by GotGames.
